EU Digital Maturity Assessment (DMA)

Identify digital strengths and weaknesses through online self-assessment

About the method

Developed by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, DMAT is a common assessment tool for European Digital Innovation Hubs. It tracks digital maturity before and after support and helps identify client needs.

Geographic adoption and scale

Regions
EU and other European countries participating in EDIH, with published applications in Finland and Ireland.
Scale
By mid-January 2025, the EDIH network had performed over 11,000 assessments of businesses and public-sector organizations.

EDIHs use DMAT for initial diagnosis and follow-up. Finland’s FAIR offers DMA services, and Ireland’s ENTIRE has published its service pathway. The 11,000 figure counts assessments, not distinct companies or unique users of the public Open DMAT tool.
